13+ years at the intersection of admissions strategy, enrollment management, and institutional brand building.
Dr. Ashish Gupta has spent over 13 years leading admissions, outreach, and enrollment strategy at some of India's most respected institutions — RV University, O.P. Jindal Global University, IFIM Institutions, and Jagran Lakecity University.
He is defined by a consistent ability to build high-performing teams, develop institutional brand presence across new geographies, and drive measurable enrollment growth — from doubling batch sizes to opening SAARC and GCC markets. He is not a consultant who advises from the outside; he is a practitioner who has run the function from within.
Beyond his institutional roles, Ashish founded IAP and APCI — the first professional platforms for India's admissions community — and authored India's only practitioner-written admissions strategy book. He is also the President Elect of Rotary E Club of Bangalore, reflecting a commitment to leadership and community beyond institutional walls.
He is currently developing the Human Intelligence (HI) framework — research on what makes human professionals irreplaceable in the age of AI, expressed through speaking, writing and a forthcoming book titled Irreplaceable.
Admissions teams don't fail because of bad tactics. They fail because the people running the function don't have a clear mandate from institutional leadership — or because talented professionals are micromanaged into mediocrity.
Great admissions outcomes are a downstream result of two things: a leadership team that has articulated a clear vision for what kind of institution they want to build — and an admissions leader who has the freedom and trust to execute that vision with full accountability.
I come in to understand the vision, build the systems, hire and develop the team, and own the outcomes. That is what a Director of Admissions should do — and that is the standard I hold myself to.
